This is an exciting time for the state's cannabis industry and for consumers, who will now have access to safe and legal cannabis products. See how we're ramping up and check out SunMed Growers in a recent Baltimore Sun piece covering Saturday's adult-use launch.
In a few short days, Maryland will join the growing list of states that have legalized recreational cannabis for adults 21 and older. This is an exciting time for the state’s cannabis industry and for those who will now have access to safe and legal cannabis products.
“We cranked it up.”
- SunMed President, Jake Van Wingerden in a recent interview with the Baltimore Sun.
With the construction of our new $18 million facility complete, SunMed is proud to be one of the largest cultivators and processors of cannabis in the state. And we're excited to continue serving the increased demand of our loyal medical patients while sharing the benefits of cannabis grown in full-spectrum, natural sunlight with new adult-use consumers. The growing teams in our new state-of-the-art extraction lab and kitchen and our expanded greenhouse facility are ramping up production, preparing for two launches: The July 1 launch of rec and the launch of SunMed’s first line of edibles, Sunnies, which will be in dispensaries before the end of the summer.
We commend Maryland lawmakers, regulators and advocates for driving a framework that balances consumer choice, public health, social justice and economic development. We’ll continue working alongside our industry and state partners to promote equity, safety and strength in the state’s evolving cannabis market.
