3 THC Infused Recipes for Thanksgiving
With the holidays approaching, these THC-infused recipes are sure to impress your friends and family—just be sure to keep them away from the kids' table! In this blog, you'll learn how to incorporate cannabis into some of your favorite recipes.
Important Dosage Notes
These recipes use cannabis in the form of cannabutter, and the amount can be adjusted to fit your preferred dosage. When making large-batch edibles, it can be challenging to dose each serving accurately. That’s why we recommend preparing small-batch, single-serving dishes—like mini pies instead of one large pie. This way, you can control the dosage per serving, and your guests can easily halve the portion if needed. Or, if you choose to make an infused topping, like gravy, people can control how much they put on their food. As always, start low and go slow with dosing, since homemade edibles can take 45 to 90 minutes to take effect.
Making Cannabutter
Folllow this step-by-step guide to make your own cannabutter:
-
Decarboxylate the cannabis: Bake cannabis flower at 220°F to activate THC. Break the flower into large pieces and bake for 20-60 minutes depending on its quality. Check on it frequently to ensure even baking and to make sure it doesn't burn.
-
Infuse the butter: Break up your decarbed cannabis so it's the perfect consistency for rolling a joint. Then, simmer the decarbed cannabis with butter and water on low heat for about 4 hours, stirring regularly.
-
Strain: Use a cheesecloth to strain the mixture, then cool it.
-
Store: Use cannabutter immediately or refrigerate or freeze the cannabutter in an airtight container for future use.
An Important Note: this recipe uses 1/2 oz. of decarbed cannabis per 8 oz. or 1 cup of butter and the following recipes will adhere to this ratio.
