cGMP, cGAP certifications recognize SunMed for meeting
Warwick, MD – SunMed Growers (SunMed), a leader in sustainable and innovative cannabis cultivation, has achieved completion of three prominent industry certifications: Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Agricultural Practices (cGAP), and cGMP for Food and Dietary Supplements. Awarded after rigorous, independent audits by Perry Johnson Registrars, the cGAP and cGMP processes and resulting certifications ensure that SunMed’s facilities, and its cultivation and processing practices adhere to stringent FDA guidelines for safety, quality and traceability in the production of cannabis and cannabis edibles.
To accomplish these certifications, SunMed met rigorous quality and safety benchmarks across its greenhouse, lab and commercial kitchen operations and processes. Through a series of independent audits designed to ensure that every product meets high-quality standards from cultivation through packaging, SunMed Growers demonstrated best practices in product safety and consistency and its ability to uphold clean and sustainable cultivation practices.

The cGMP Food and Dietary Supplement certification, required by Maryland law to manufacture and distribute products high-dose products, will also ensure that SunMed continues to meet its original promise of serving all patients and all their medicinal needs. State law dictates that only processing licensees with this certification are permitted to manufacture and distribute products greater than 10mg per serving. While cannabis is now legal in Maryland for all adults over 21, only those registered as patients with the state’s medical cannabis program may purchase edible products with dosages up to 40mg per serving.
